Well! I’m so excited that my business is getting off the ground. Although I am making baby steps, I am like a proud momma! Late last week, I got my business cards in the mail and a t-shirt that created via Vistaprint! Thanks Vistaprint!

This week I made my first PAID booking for a family portrait. I really tried my darn hardest to book this sale. Recently, I have learned a lot about myself and my business. I can be an introvert in more ways than one, but when I am really passionate about something, I fight so hard for it. I will put aside my shyness when I talk about something I love or have a lot of interest. When I’m focused about something, I will research the heck about it until I am so packed full of knowledge, that it’s pouring out of my ears. And if you ask me about it, it comes out like a waterfall of information and you may have to stop me or slow me down, just to catch up. I love learning about almost anything that is of interest to me, i.e. photography,(right now).
Not only was booking this photo session a great highlight of my week, I was able to find and purchase another camera lens to add to my collection. (which makes it 2 now, hehe.) Persistance will get you far in life, if you know how to use it correctly. I was so sure that I could find a nice telephoto camera lens that didn’t cost an arm and a leg. So my persistance, allowed me to keep looking and not give up to paying $200-300 on a camera lens. Instead, I researched used camera lens for Sony and after going through many, many websites, I found a website that I could buy one for under $75 bucks. I almost thought I was dreaming at first. I almost couldn’t believe it at first. What’s the catch? Nothing, it’s a gently used camera lens in excellenct condition. Crazy!! I know, right?
So, what have I learned?
Being persistant, NOT PUSHY, and not giving up on what you love, will land you that 1st booking and/or will convince someone that you know what the heck you are talking about.
Researching, the heck out of something, will help you really find what you are looking for, even if you just happened to stumble on it. Sometimes, it may take a little longer to find what you are looking for, but when you do, it’s totally worth it!
Never give up!!
